Pierre Cardin held a fashion show in New York to celebrate the announcement of the winner of the house competition for young designers. At the time, HyeRin Lee, a senior design student at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles, was named the winner of the brand's first annual competition, winning an all-expenses-paid three-month summer internship at Pierre Cardin's house in Paris.
